Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day and with less than 50 days until the presidential election, there is a large push to increase participation among voters in November and beyond.

Sept. 17 is National Voter Registration Day, and people are encouraged to register to vote with seven weeks until the election.

Two Texas officials were sued this week after they were accused of violating the National Voter Registration Act. On Wednesday, officials in Travis County, Texas, filed lawsuits against the state's Attorney General Ken Paxton and Secretary of State Jane Nelson over alleged attempts to block voter registration efforts ahead of the November presidential election.
